Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you use PeerBear, we collect:

• Account info: the email address you sign in with, plus a display name and username we generate or you set.
• Content you submit: product listings, descriptions, uploaded logos/screenshots, upvotes, and comments.
• Payment info (Featured placements only): processed directly by our payment provider, Dodo Payments — we never see or store your card details.
• Technical data: IP address (used for rate-limiting abuse, e.g. repeated submissions or votes) and standard server logs from our hosting provider.

2. How we use it

• To operate your account and show your submitted products and activity
• To send transactional email — a sign-in link, a one-time welcome email, and a receipt if you buy a Featured placement
• To rank listings by upvote count and prevent abuse (vote manipulation, spam submissions)
• To process Featured placement payments and grant the resulting placement

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run PeerBear, each only for the purpose below:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage for uploaded images
• Dodo Payments — payment processing for Featured placements
• Resend — sending transactional email (sign-in links, receipts, welcome emails)
• Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery

We don't share your data with anyone else except where required by law.

4. What's public

Product listings, your display name, username, upvote counts, and comments are public by design — that's how a directory works. Your email address is never shown publicly.

5. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your own product listings at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account entirely, email us and we'll remove your account data, subject to records we're required to keep (e.g. payment records for tax purposes).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain uses of it. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the date at the top when we do.
